Join the Arriva TrainCare Team as a Heavy Maintenance Manager!

Organisation - Arriva TrainCare (ATC)

Contract – Permanent

Location - Bristol

Working Hours – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary - £57,506.60 per annum

The Role

We are on the look out for new talent to join our team based in the Bristol depot to join us as a Heavy Maintenance Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the successful mobilisation, deployment, and commercial delivery of our heavy maintenance projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop effective internal and external working relationships that deliver all key elements of Heavy Maintenance contracts
  • Ensure all work undertaken is in line with ATC, customer, technical and legislative standards and specifications.
  • Adherence to and delivery of all relevant tasks as detailed in ATC-1098 Heavy Maintenance Process Document and support with the continual improvement of the document processes, including but not limited to
  • Develop and maintain safe systems of work in accordance with relevant customer, business or legislative standards, ensuring all risk assessments are suitable and sufficient.
  • Provision of regular management information and key performance indicators that report key project deliverables.
  • Support the bid team as required with input to support potential new work opportunities.
  • Responsible for mobilisation elements of new projects, including recruitment, development of deliverables such as resource plans, work breakdown structures, tooling requirements, risk register, Bill of materials, specification review in line with the companies Heavy Maintenance Mobilisation procedure.
  • Improvements and delivery in HSEQ areas including but not limited to: Safety Tours, Accident/Incident investigations, ensuring work locations and equipment are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards
  • Deliver pro-active customer management identifying and developing possible opportunities on maximising revenues and cost savings.
  • Understand and recognise new stakeholder opportunities and maintain existing stakeholder relationships
  • Responsible for the close out of accident, incident and near misses in a timely manner.
  • Input/support into the production delivery process.

Qualifications – Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or Rail Engineering or an equivalent trade qualification with heavy maintenance experience.

Experience – previous experience in heavy maintenance, overhaul or refurbishment of rolling stock, heavy vehicles or similarly complex industrial equipment. Previous experience supervising depot, workshop or production teams.

Knowledge – Strong understanding of maintenance planning, work sequencing, quality assurance and safe systems of work.

Full and valid driving licence
