ROLE: General Maintenance Operative

HOURS

40 hours per week (Mon–Fri with shift rota and call-out requirements)

We're looking for a General Maintenance Operative who will support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance within a secure custodial environment at HMP Millsike.

Role Responsibilities

  • Completing planned and reactive maintenance and monitoring of all prison fabric within scope.
  • Conducting tasks in compliance with Company Safety Policy, Procedures, relevant Codes of Practice, NR, and Statutory Regulations, ensuring adherence to the Company's and Clients' Permit to Work Systems.
  • Liaising with engineers and subcontractors, developing a detailed knowledge and understanding of site engineering services, and supporting best working practices.
  • Completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time, coordinating connections to existing plant/systems, and using and maintaining O&M Manuals and quality procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or equivalent, IOSH or equivalent, C&G/BTEC Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering Parts 1, 2 and 3, NVQ Level 3 (multi-skilled engineering), C&G 2079 F Gas or equivalent, HVAC or gas equivalent, or C&G 2391/2 18th Edition IEE regulations.
  • Previous relevant experience providing electrical maintenance services in a large, complex environment.
  • Basic to intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, with experience updating central data systems

What We Are Looking For

  • Be a UK citizen, Commonwealth citizen with indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage), or EEA citizen
  • Hold a valid and in-date passport with no restrictions on your stay in the UK
  • Provide appropriate Right to Work documentation (biometric card with valid passport where required)
  • Have resided continuously in the UK for the past 3 years (no trips longer than three months)
  • Not have spent more than 3 months overseas at any one time in the past 5 years
  • Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, 5-year referencing and Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) clearance
  • Not currently be bankrupt
