Hoist & Stairlift Installation Engineer

South East & West Sussex | Field-Based | Company Van | Overtime Available

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 DOE + Overtime + Call-Out Payments

Are you an experienced Stairlift or Hoist Engineer looking for a role where your skills genuinely improve people's lives?

We're looking for a motivated Installation Engineer to join a growing specialist business covering South East and West Sussex. Every day you'll install, service and repair mobility equipment that helps people remain safe, independent and comfortable in their own homes.

The Role

Working across South East and West Sussex, you'll visit customers in their homes to install, service and repair stairlifts and ceiling track hoists.

This is a varied field-based role combining installation, fault finding and preventative maintenance. You'll work independently while delivering a professional, friendly service that gives customers confidence in the equipment they rely on every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and commissioning stairlifts and ceiling track hoist systems
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
  • Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Responding to breakdowns and emergency call-outs
  • Managing your own diary and daily schedule
  • Completing service reports and compliance paperwork
  • Ensuring all work meets manufacturer standards and health & safety requirements
  • Providing excellent customer service in domestic settings
  • Taking part in a 1-in-4 emergency call-out rota

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience installing and servicing stairlifts
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Experience working independently in a field service environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rota
  • DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

  • Experience with ceiling track hoists or other mobility equipment
  • Knowledge of LOLER and lifting equipment regulations
  • Electrical qualification (18th Edition, NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Background in healthcare, assisted living or mobility engineering
  • Manual handling training
