Position Purpose
The Hoist Technician is responsible for assembling and wiring control systems and lifting equipment,
specifically controllers and hoists, using technical diagrams to convert components into functional, tested products. This role is an individual contributor position that emphasizes precise execution and dependable output, with an added responsibility of signing LOLER certificates, mentoring and training new employees on manufacturing and testing products. They will also have a basic knowledge on how to test hoists and cables.By delivering reliable equipment on time, you enable production teams and end users to "Create Moments that Move People," ensuring seamless installations, effective lifting operations, and smooth customerexperiences. Operating at a tactical and operational level within a local or regional manufacturing site, therole carries responsibility for final assembly accuracy, workflow contribution, and fostering a culture ofcontinuous improvement. This role is also responsible for carrying out repairs, servicing and recalibration onany returned products.
Responsibilities
As a Hoist Technician 2, your tasks will go from assembling controllers, hoists, wiring harnesses, and sub-assemblies from technical diagrams and engineering specifications, applying advanced wiring techniquesand quality checks, to testing the hoist side of products and testing external and internal cables andharness’s. You conduct functional testing, inspection, calibration and load testing of hoists to guarantee eachproduct meets stringent safety and performance standards. In addition to your core responsibilities, youmentor and train new technicians in manufacturing of products and the testing of hoists, helping them masterbest practices for consistent quality and operational efficiency. You uphold a clean, well-organized, andhazard-free workshop, adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, and proactively report risks.Continuously, you identify inefficiencies or defects, recommend process improvements, and partner withinternal teams including Production Management, Quality Assurance, Stores, and Continuous Improvementto ensure reliable output, streamlined production, and on-time delivery. You will be giving feedback to theProduct Technicians on any mistakes in build and investigate where the break in documentation is.

Qualifications And Experience
While formal qualifications are not mandatory, candidates with a background in mechanical or electrical
engineering, or related fields, are encouraged to apply. Practical experience in assembling and wiring controlsystems and lifting equipment is advantageous. Familiarity with interpreting technical diagrams andadherence to safety protocols is beneficial. Additionally, experience with tools such as multi-meters, basicsoldering, and knowledge of quality standards like ISO 9001 can enhance a candidate's suitability for therole.

Knowledge And Experience
Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to
interpret and work from technical diagrams. Experience in assembling and wiring control systems and lifting equipment is preferred. Familiarity with safety protocols and quality standards is essential. Candidates should also possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. They must also attend the internal Vector and Apex training sessions. The Hoist Technician role is for those who have completed the LEEA foundation course and the powered lifting machines diploma.
