What You’ll Receive
- Competitive pay: £13.75/hour (weekdays) | £14.75/hour (weekends)
- Paid travel time between visits (£13.75/hour)
- 45p per mile mileage allowance
- Morning shifts (7am) and evening shifts (until 10pm)
- Alternate weekends

Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing
As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide one-to-one support to older people in their own homes, helping them stay independent, comfortable, and connected.
No two days are ever the same. You could be:
- Supporting clients on outings (e.g., afternoon tea, shopping trips, or fish and chips in Whitby)
- Assisting with personal care and daily routines
- Providing medication support
- Helping with mobility, transfers, and safe movement
- Supporting clients to attend appointments and community activities
- Aiding with shopping, meal preparation, cooking, and light household tasks
- Promoting independence, dignity, comfort, and companionship in every visit
This role can include:
- Carrying shopping or household items
- Kneeling or working in low positions when supporting clients
- Assisting with mobility and manual handling

Where You’ll Work
You’ll support clients across York and surrounding villages, including: Acomb, Bishopthorpe, Clifton, Copmanthorpe, Dringhouses, Fulford, Haxby, Huntington, Poppleton, Stamford Bridge, Whelđrake, Easingwold, Green Hammerton, and nearby areas.
Requirements: What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who are: ✔ Kind, caring, and reliable ✔ Friendly and respectful ✔ Passionate about helping others ✔ Comfortable with local travel
Essential Qualifications:
- A full UK driving licence
- Access to your own car
- The right to work in the UK
No Experience? We’ll Train You.
