Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing

As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide one-to-one support to older people in their own homes, helping them stay independent, comfortable, and connected.

No two days are ever the same. You could be:

  • Supporting clients on outings (e.g., afternoon tea, shopping trips, or fish and chips in Whitby)
  • Assisting with personal care and daily routines
  • Providing medication support
  • Helping with mobility, transfers, and safe movement
  • Supporting clients to attend appointments and community activities
  • Aiding with shopping, meal preparation, cooking, and light household tasks
  • Promoting independence, dignity, comfort, and companionship in every visit

This role can include:

  • Carrying shopping or household items
  • Kneeling or working in low positions when supporting clients
  • Assisting with mobility and manual handling

Where You’ll Work

You’ll support clients across York and surrounding villages, including: Acomb, Bishopthorpe, Clifton, Copmanthorpe, Dringhouses, Fulford, Haxby, Huntington, Poppleton, Stamford Bridge, Whelđrake, Easingwold, Green Hammerton, and nearby areas.


Requirements: What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who are: ✔ Kind, caring, and reliable ✔ Friendly and respectful ✔ Passionate about helping others ✔ Comfortable with local travel

Essential Qualifications:

  • A full UK driving licence
  • Access to your own car
  • The right to work in the UK

No Experience? We’ll Train You.

Many of our best Care Assistants began with no previous care experience. If you have the right values, we’ll provide the training, mentoring, and support you need to succeed.
