Whether you’re an experienced care worker, a retired nurse, or someone with lived experience of disability or caring for loved ones, we welcome you to work with us on a flexible, freelance basis.

About The Work
As a self-employed care contractor, you’ll provide essential, person-centred support to adults in their own homes. Tasks may include:

- Personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Meal preparation and hydration support
- Prompting or administering medication (training can be arranged)
- Companionship and social support
- Light domestic tasks
You’ll visit customers on pre-scheduled routes, often providing 30–60 minute visits. Travel time is kept under 15 minutes between calls where possible. Evening, weekend, and occasional overnight visits are available depending on your preference.
Who We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience in care or a related field (formal qualifications not essential)
- Are compassionate, reliable, and respectful of others’ independence
- Are registered self-employed (or willing to register – we can advise)
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Have the right to work in the UK

We provide a full induction and training programme free of charge to help you feel confident before starting your visits. This includes moving and handling, medication, safeguarding, and customer-specific care needs.
We particularly welcome applications from care professionals with disabilities or long-term health conditions, as well as semi-retired carers looking for part-time work.
Important Information
- All self-employed contractors must hold or be willing to obtain public liability insurance (we can recommend providers).
- An enhanced DBS check will be required – we can help arrange this if you don’t already hold one.
- Contractors are responsible for their own tax and national insurance. If you’re unsure how to register, we’re happy to signpost you to support.
