Home Care Worker – Extra Care Housing (Temporary)
Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership Care at Home Services provide care and support to vulnerable people living at home, within the community, which includes four extra care housing developments across the authority. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, flexible and highly motivated individual to join our extra care team.
Extra care housing service operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Hours of work are 25 hours per week worked during core business times between 06:30-22:30hrs on a 4 days on/4 days off rota system. The post may require you to work across the service
Duties include assisting service users with all aspects of personal care including help with washing, dressing, toileting, medication, etc; help with preparing breakfast and other meals when necessary and assist service users to maintain and develop their daily living skills and improve independence.

You will require to undertake all relevant training for the post. It is essential that you have Experience of working in a care setting and delivering intimate personal care or in an informal or personal capacity; have an awareness of a range of long term conditions and have an understanding of the needs of people who require help from care services; be able to demonstrate within your application form that you are reliable and flexible with the ability to work as part of a team. You will also be required to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and this would include monitoring and reporting changes in the identified needs of service users including the handling of sensitive information.
It is essential that you have a, positive and professional attitude and an ability to deal with unexpected events or emergency situations.

It is essential that you hold or have the capacity to achieve an SVQ Level 2 in Care or an equivalent qualification at level 5 (SCQF) or above. You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 18 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
