As a Sainsbury’s Home Delivery Driver, you’ll be a vital part of bringing our customers’ online orders directly to their doorstep.


Eligibility Requirements

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be over 18 years old with a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months
  • Have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence
  • Hold Right to Work eligibility in the UK
  • Successfully complete:
    • An online driving risk assessment as part of the interview process
    • A driving assessment before you begin work

What You’ll Do

As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll:

  • Drive a 3.5-tonne van while maintaining high standards for the timely, safe, and well-organised delivery of groceries to customers
  • Pre-drive checks including:
    • Ensuring the van is clean, roadworthy, and properly stocked
    • Securing delivery cases for safe transit
    • Adapting your driving style to suit urban, rural, and residential settings
  • Offer exceptional customer service by:
    • Addressing questions, substitutions, or concerns promptly
    • Explaining products and promotions to help customers
  • Maintain service quality by:
    • Keeping customers informed of any delays or changes
  • Provide cross-departmental support in-store when deliveries are not scheduled
