Delivery Driver Settlement Manager Delivery (Van) (3.5+ Tonne) – Sainsbury's
About the Role
As a Delivery Driver in our Settlement Manager Delivery team, you’ll be responsible for operating a 3.5-tonne van to deliver high-quality groceries and customer service to homes across diverse locations. This role combines driving excellence, customer care and flexibility—helping us build the best delivery service in the nation.
Key Responsibilities
Every day brings variety to this role, but you can expect to:

Operate the van
- Drive a 3.5-tonne van safely and efficiently to deliver groceries on time and in pristine condition to customer doorsteps.
- Complete pre-delivery checks to ensure:
- The van is organised, clean, and roadworthy.
- Delivery cases are secure and load-balanced for safe transit.
- Adhere to AI-monitored driving standards supported by in-cab cameras to promote defensive driving and compliance.

Deliver exceptional customer service
- Be friendly, welcoming, and proactive, supporting customers with queries or substitutions.
- Keep customers updated on delivery timings, apologising when needed and offering alternative support.
- Build deep expertise in our products, services, promotions, and loyalty programmes to provide tailored recommendations.

Supplement store operations
- Assist across the store when deliveries are complete, using your skills to contribute flexibly (movement of up to 15kg containers, retail checks, or routine stock tasks).
