Home Delivery Driver
Delivery Driver - Sainsbury’s
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Driving a 3.5-tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps, ensuring on-time and safe delivery in excellent condition
- Conducting pre-delivery checks to verify the van is organised, clean, and roadworthy, checking that delivery cases are secure before setting off
- Operating safely in diverse locations and conditions, including busy residential streets and rural areas
- Delivering to a wide range of residential properties with discretion and attention to detail
- Providing outstanding customer service, assisting with any queries, substitutions, and informing customers of potential delays
- Building strong product knowledge to offer recommendations and support promotions effectively
- Providing support across the store as required when not making deliveries

The ideal candidate will:
- Be friendly, welcoming, and enthusiastic about delivering excellent doorstep service
- Have skilled driving experience with large vehicles, including navigating busy streets, narrow lanes, and various property types
- Thrive in a fast-paced, physical environment, demonstrated by problem-solving and adaptability—whether working independently or as part of a team
- Be flexible and productive across multiple store tasks, eager to learn new skills and develop further
- Be comfortable with digital tools, heavy lifting (containers up to 15 KG), and technology-assisted driving support
- Sainsbury’s implements in-cab AI cameras to monitor driving behaviour, ensuring compliance with road laws and promoting defensive driving for safety
