Home Delivery Driver – Sainsbury’s

About the Role

As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll be a vital part of the team, ensuring our online customers receive the best possible doorstep experience for their Sainsbury’s orders.


Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, please ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • Age: Must be over 18
  • Driving Licence:
    • Held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months
    • No more than 6 points on your licence
  • Right to Work: Must have eligibility to work in the UK
  • Online & In-Person Assessments:
    • Complete a driving risk assessment as part of the interview process
    • If successful, undergo a driving assessment before joining

Key Responsibilities

  • ** deliveries efficiently**:

    • Drive a 3.5-tonne van to deliver groceries directly to customers’ doorsteps, ensuring on-time and high-quality service
    • Conduct pre-delivery checks to confirm the van is organised, clean, roadworthy, and secure
    • Deliver in varied conditions, including busy urban areas, residential streets, and narrow rural lanes
  • Customer Care & Engagement:

    • Provide brilliant service, answering questions and assisting with substitutions or delays
    • Offer product knowledge to guide customers and share promotion insights and recommendations

    • Assist across different areas of the store when not making deliveries
