Home Delivery Driver (Store-Based Role)

Our stores are fast-paced environments where no two days are ever the same, and food is at our core. They are the heart of the local community, delivering outstanding value, quality, and service. As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll be a key part of the team that brings Sainsbury’s online customers their groceries safely and efficiently.
Eligibility
To apply, you must:
- Be over 18 and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months
- Have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence
- Successfully complete an online driving risk assessment during the interview process, followed by a practical driving assessment once hired
- Meet Right to Work eligibility in the UK
What you’ll be doing
- Drive a 3.5-tonne van to deliver groceries efficiently, on time, and in excellent condition
- Perform pre-delivery checks to ensure the van is organised, clean, roadworthy, and secure before setting out
- Navigate various locations safely, adapting to residential, rural, or urban delivery routes
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, managing substitutions, and communicating del mismo (деналежаlidays)
- Build strong product knowledge to recommend items and discuss promotions
- Assist in-store as needed when not on deliveries, contributing to team productivity
