Home Delivery Driver – Sainsbury’s
About the Role
Our stores are fast-paced and dynamic environments built around a passion for food. Right at the heart of local communities, we provide outstanding value, quality, and excellent customer service. As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll be a key part of our team, ensuring our online customers receive their Sainsbury’s orders safely and on time.
Eligibility
To apply, you’ll need to meet these requirements:
- Be older than 18
- Hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months
- Have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence
- Hold Right to Work eligibility in the UK
Successful candidates will complete online driving assessments followed by an in-person driving test as part of the process.
Responsibilities
- Drive a 3.5-tonne van, delivering groceries to customers' doorsteps efficiently and safely
- Conduct thorough vehicle checks ensuring it’s clean, roadworthy, and fully stocked prior to deliveries
- Navigate through diverse locations—residential areas, busy streets, and rural lanes—while maintaining safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting with queries, substitutions, and any updates on delays
- Build strong product knowledge and share tailored recommendations with customers
- Collaborate across the store when off-routing, helping with operational needs (e.g., stocking, tasks as assigned)
