About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Home Manager to lead one of our residential care homes in Kirklees. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, friendly residential care home with a Good CQC rating, excellent occupancy levels. The home has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, person-centred care within the local community, providing an excellent platform for a manager who wants to lead a successful service while continuing to drive quality and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, quality and compliance are maintained.
  • Assess residents' needs and oversee the development and regular review of person-centred care plans.
  • Ensure every resident receives compassionate, respectful and individualised care.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, CQC regulations, Health & Safety, COSHH, HACCP and infection prevention standards.
  • Monitor the safe and effective running of the home through robust quality assurance, audits, risk assessments and governance systems.
  • Maintain all statutory records, policies and documentation, ensuring the home remains inspection-ready at all times.
  • Investigate complaints professionally, implementing learning and continuous improvement where appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, commissioners and external agencies.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a well-established staff team through recruitment, supervision, coaching and ongoing training.
  • Oversee staffing levels, rotas, annual leave and sickness to ensure safe staffing and excellent continuity of care.
  • Manage the home's financial performance, resources and occupancy to support the continued success of the service.
  • Ensure safe medication management and effective stock control systems are maintained.
  • Oversee residents' financial arrangements with honesty, integrity and complete confidentiality.

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within an adult social care setting.
  • Experience managing a residential care home.
  • A thorough understanding of CQC regulations and adult social care legislation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to motivate, develop and retain high-performing teams.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional, person-centred care.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards this).
  • Flexibility to support the home outside normal working hours when required.

Required Skills

  • Compassionate and inspiring leadership.
  • Genuine passion for delivering outstanding care.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Pay range and compensation package

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
