Role Description
Allianz Personal are looking for a Pricing Manager to join our Retail Team. We're seeking a true expert who will take the responsibility for delivering the financial targets of our Home products being distributed via our Partnerships network.
Based in our London or Birmingham offices on a hybrid basis, you'll work closely with the wider Pricing team to help us shape the future path of Pricing by integrating our models into customer rating and accurately manage the insurance risk of the business we write.
The role sits within the Retail Pricing Portfolio team, and involves managing a team of analysts, as well as forming relationships across numerous teams and departments within both AZP and Allianz Group.
About You
Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:
- Deputising for the relevant Head of Partnerships Pricing, and contributing to the product underwriting strategy.
- Defining and delivering pricing analysis projects to improve underwriting performance whilst supporting GWP targets through competitive product/price positioning.
- Involved in the tendering and onboarding of new partners, as well as developing and improving the performance on existing partners.
- Inputting into product development, by primarily identifying innovative underwriting segmentation improvements to support volume growth and profitability ambitions.
- Establishing a robust rate relativity review process to optimise the conversion and profitability of individual risk segments within the portfolio.
- Reviewing overall product and individual scheme profitability, providing necessary pricing input into the budget planning process for existing lines, and the evaluation of new schemes or partnership bids.
Essential Skills
- Solid pricing portfolio expertise with experience in challenging the status quo to introduce innovation
- Experience within pricing and delivering the financial targets using Risk Premium models from other teams, coupled with commercial awareness of the Home market.
- Previous exposure to the use of Radar, Databricks and Machine Learning models or transferable equivalents in an insurance setting.
- Experience of managing and mentoring junior team members, as well as being a role model.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across pricing teams and other business functions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
