HOP Technician – Network Delivery Team

Location: Primarily based near M Group’s Diseworth office (commutable distance preferred), with remote availability for meetings and project needs across the UK.

Job Type: Full-time / Permanent

You play a critical role in delivering secure telecoms infrastructure—working with our mobile networks team to ensure the smooth handover of projects from build to client acceptance.

As a HOP Technician, you’ll specialise in Hand Over Packs (HOPs), guaranteeing the technical and administrative integrity of every delivery—the foundation of client trust.

With strong intra-company collaboration and a process-focused mindset, you’ll bridge teams to achieve detail-oriented, on-time, and high-quality outcomes.


What You’ll Be Doing

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Managing and quality-checking Hand Over Packs (HOPs) – Ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant before submission to clients.
  • Collaborating across Build, Delivery, and Project teams – Aligning workflows, mitigating risks, and driving smooth project transitions.
  • Maintaining live project trackers and databases – Tracking milestones, SLAs, and dependencies to optimise delivery timelines.
  • Generating progress and performance reports – Keeping stakeholders informed with data-driven updates.
  • Supporting HSE and administrative tasks – Including Risk Assessments (RAMS) and compliance reporting via MyRewards, REC supplies, and Resource Management.
  • Improving processes – Continuously refining systems, standards, and workflows to bolster efficiency across the board.

What You’ll Bring

  • Telecoms delivery experience – In HOP, project support, or site-based site service roles (ideally with small cells, private networks, or Smart Cities infrastructure).
  • Proven reliable quality assurance – Demonstrated ability to catch inaccuracies, flag discrepancies, and ensure first-time-right submissions.
  • Taming complexity – Great with managing multiple priorities, organising resources, and keeping deadlines flexible yet agile.
  • Practical IT skills – Competent in Excel (data manipulation, pivot tables), MS Project, SharePoint, and key project tools.
  • Primer on telecoms HOP processes – Familiarity with pre-acceptance checks, vendor/SOPs, and client expectations is beneficial.
  • Soft integration skills – Clear communication, situational analysis, and relationship-building with engineers, planners, and commercial teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset – Proactive in coutising issues, offering optimisations, and upholding internal and external SLAs.
  • Certifications are not mandatory but candidates with knowledge of Telecoms Management Systems, HASCP, or related standards will progress more rapidly.
