Hospital Complex Wound Specialist

At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture advanced technology that enhances quality of life through surgical intervention and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT). Join us to drive impactful change by leveraging your expertise in this pivotal role.

Location Coverage

  • South East: Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Hampshire (including Isle of Wight)
  • East Midlands: Northamptonshire, Leicestershire

The Role

You’ll be the go-to clinical expert for healthcare professionals seeking guidance on NPWT and advanced wound management, helping deliver exceptional patient outcomes while advocating for innovative solutions.

More specifically, you’ll:

  • Work across acute settings, providing hands-on clinical support and education to enhance care
  • Design and deliver NPWT training programmes focused on Pico and Renasys systems
  • Provide complex wound care support, demonstrating clinical benefits and advocating for better practices
  • Collaborate with territory managers and commercial teams to drive strategic projects
  • Advise Tissue Viability Nurses and Theatre teams, partner on audits andshape clinical pathways for improved outcomes and efficiency
  • Engage with decision-makers at all levels to promote adoption of advanced therapies

Key Responsibilities

Every day will bring variety and opportunity: ✔ Consult on wound management and NPWT best practices ✔ Train and educate clinicians across multiple modalities ✔ Implement innovative solutions into mainstream healthcare delivery ✔ Partner on audits, clinical guidelines and quality improvement initiatives ✔ Represent the company’s vision in discussions with healthcare leaders

What We Need from You

This is an exceptional opportunity for a clinicallyсер边ход passionate sounding، with demonstrable NPWT expertise, to advance our mission of transformative patient care.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have a qualification in Registered General Nursing (RGN) or a medicine-related allied profession
  • Bring strong clinical wound management skills, with a particular emphasis on NPWT
  • Understand NHS pathways, decision-making processes, and theatre optimisation
  • Display excellent communication and organisational skills, with an ability to facilitate training and manage priorities
  • Be confident engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders at all decision-making levels
  • Be comfortable with extensive travel across your assigned territory
