POSITION: HORSEBACK RIDING INSTRUCTOR

STATUS: OPEN ONGOING

HOURS: 15-35

TYPE: NON-SEASONAL

SCHEDULE: FIXED-VARIABLE WEEKLY

PAY: NEGOTIABLE BASED ON SKILL LEVEL

Job Description

We’re looking for great people to join our team! Horseback Riding Instructors at Autumn’s Gate have a pretty big responsibility. We need awesome people to help share the love of animals and horseback riding in a safe, energetic, and entertaining manner.

Your Responsibilities May Include

  • Conducting and/or overseeing semi-private horseback riding lessons and events for children ages 4+, as well as adults, often with the assistance of an associate instructor.
  • Ensuring lessons and visitors are engaging in safe behavior and abiding by the "Barn Rules"
  • Observing the health and behavior of active lesson horses and assisting in the facilitation of training and care
  • Assisting with the general training of lesson horses to ensure they are as safe and productive as possible
  • Assisting with the procedure of prepping lesson horses if needed
  • Assisting in continually developing and improving the curriculum
  • Assisting in creating and helping to improve horseback riding events
  • Assisting with scheduling, updating student records, and miscellaneous lesson administrative tasks
  • Making sure EVERYONE HAS FUN! 🙂

A Few Additional Qualifications Include

  • 5+ years riding and working with horses, or 2+ years of horseback riding instruction
  • A fun and energetic, customer service-focused attitude
  • Work specifically with kids is a huge plus!
  • The ability to work with a team and create camaraderie is a MUST!
  • Basic understanding of technology to track student attendance, forms, etc.
  • Reliable transportation and time management
