Arboriculture Production Operative – Full-Time (Permanent) – Hillier Tree Nursery
About the Role
Hillier Tree Nursery, a prestigious family-owned arboriculture business with 150+ years of history, is seeking a dedicated Arboriculture Production Operative to join our team in Liss, Hampshire.

Key objectives:
- Execute all duties related to the production and delivery of specimen trees
- Work as a self-motivated, reliable team player with strong organisational and communication skills
- Grow expertise in all stages of tree-growing, from planting to dispatch
Key Responsibilities
- Tree preparation & dispatch: Preparing specimens for sale and lodging
- Equipment operation: Running agricultural vehicles and machinery safely
- Propagation & care: Planting, potting, and shaping tree stock
- Training support: Participating in comprehensive training programs
- Potential sponsorship for Level 3 Crop Technician qualifications
- Seasonal tasks:
- Formative pruning, irrigation system maintenance, and environmental compliance
- Heavy lifting/moving of trees, loading/unloading, tying logs/trunks
- H&S standards: Upholding health and safety policies in all outdoor operations

Requirements
Skills & Attributes
- Enjoyment of outdoor work (all weather conditions—PPE provided)
- Teamwork & initiative: Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and adaptability
- Physical fitness: Confidence handling manual tasks including:
- Lifting, bending, standing for extended periods
- No prior experience necessary – full training offered (including apprenticeships)
Essential Criteria
- Must be geographically located in the UK with valid UK work rights
- Open to overtime during busy seasonal periods (enhanced pay applies)
About Hillier
- 39-hour weekday contract (M–Th: 7:30am–4:00pm, Fri: 7:30am–3:00pm)
