About The Role
We are looking for a Horticulturalist to work with our Head of Horticulture and a small dedicated, passionate team of gardeners to continue to take the gardens forward. Climate, ecology and biodiversity guide our practice. We work to connect our visitors with nature through innovative planting that is linked to the collections and exhibitions inside the museum. You will also work as required on the routine maintenance of our Gardens, waste management, plant propagation and Nursery work.
About You
You’ll have an excellent knowledge of plants and horticultural techniques, a passion for the craft of horticulture and an eye for detail. As the Horniman is a busy visitor attraction you’ll also have experience of working with the public and be able to present a warm and friendly welcome to the Gardens.

Key Qualities, Skills, And Experience
You will have significant experience of gardening in a public park or gardens, an RHS Level 2 diploma in horticulture or equivalent and experience working alongside volunteers.
The closing date for completed applications is 10am on 10 August 2026. Interviews will be held on 31 August 2026.
