Your role at Rijk Zwaan

As a practical all-rounder, you will work mainly in our greenhouses, helping with plant raising, planting, pest and disease control, crop care and seed harvesting. You will learn specialised vegetable seed production tasks along the way, with on-the-job training and support from our team. Over time, you will have the opportunity to develop additional skills in nursery propagation and seed cleaning, building a broad understanding of the vegetable seed production process from start to finish.

Your contribution

With diverse practical skills, you are adaptable to whatever comes your way. You are a friendly, reliable team player and able to communicate well with ease. You understand the importance of getting the job done right and make this part of your daily work.

In addition, we can find the following on your resume:

  • A good work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to cope with sometimes difficult climatic conditions
  • Experience in agricultural machinery (desirable)
  • Experience in horticulture (an advantage, but not essential)
  • Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP) is preferred or willing to obtain

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
