The Role
Are you a culinary visionary, passionate about transforming ingredients into extraordinary dishes? Does the idea of thriving in a supportive, creative, and high-energy kitchen excite you? If so, our Chef de Partie position might be your next chapter.
As the backbone of the kitchen team, you’ll:
- Prepare and cook dishes with precision, adhering to recipes, food safety standards, and presentation expectations.
- Lead your station, managing production, organisation, and quality—ensuring each dish meets BaxterStorey’s signature excellence.
- Collaborate closely with head chefs and staff to develop menus, test innovations, and refine techniques.
- Foster a harmonious team environment where communication, support, and mutual respect are paramount.
- Maintain immaculate kitchen hygiene, equipment functionality, and workspace efficiency—from your station to shared areas.
- Drive creativity through experimentation, contributing ideas to elevate the culinary experience.

Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Execute dishes with artistic flair while maintaining absolute compliance with food safety, hygiene, and catering standards.
- Adapt to peak and off-peak service demands with gracious composure.
Station Management
- Take ownership of your assigned cooking station, ensuring everything—utensils, equipment, ingredients—is primed for efficiency.
- Oversee production schedules, monitor workflow, and resolve in-situ challenges to deliver seamless service.
- Uphold the kitchen’s cleanliness and order, fostering an environment that inspires culinary excellence.
Quality Control
- Inspect every dish for perfection in taste, texture, and presentation—each plate should reflect BaxterStorey’s dedication to quality.
- Actively pitch in on menu improvements, balancing tradition with innovation.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate dynamically with chef colleagues, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to ensure crystal-clear coordination.
- Embed our values into daily interactions, fostering respect and mutual-accountability.
Innovation
- Collaborate with head chefs and culinary directors to test, refine, and roll out new recipes and culinary trends.
- Stay updated on proven restaurant techniques, passing inspiration horizontally across the team.
Maintenance & Compliance
- Conduct daily kitchen checks, reporting equipment or hygiene failures without delay.
- Embed BaxterStorey’s sustainability initiatives into your workflow—responsibly sourcing ingredients and reducing waste.
Qualifications & Experience

✅ Proven experience as a Chef de Partie (or equivalent role in hotel, restaurant, or catering kitchens). ✅ Knack for food safety and sanitation, with a rigorous attention to hygiene protocols. ✅ Culinary versatility—confidence across techniques, cuisines, and modern trends. ✅ Stamina for fast-paced environments, where pressure fuels excellence. ✅ Strength in time management, delegation, and multi-tasking—juggling your station while contributing to team workflows. ✅ BaxterStorey’s core values embedded in your personality: visionary, passionate, collaborative, and conscientious.
