Dining Host – Richmond Village (Retirement Living, Facilities & Home Support) Job Type: Part-time (18hrs, 3x6hrs shifts) Location: Richmond Village, Bridge Meadow Way, NN4 5EB (Also recruiting for Northampton Village) Salary: £12.90 per hour + excellent benefits Contract: Permanent Shift Pattern: 8am–8pm, including weekends (rota). Part-time hours.


About the Role

As our Dining Host, you’ll play a key role in delivering an excellent dining experience—from table settings and room service trays to serving meals in the restaurant and café (and bar for drinks when applicable).

Key Responsibilities

  • Restaurant & Café Operations:

    • Set up dining tables and setups for services
    • Serve meals efficiently in both the restaurant and café
    • Clear and sanitise tables between services
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness—restaurant, café, and kitchen areas
  • Resident Care:

    • Prepare and deliver room service trays for in-room dining
    • Support trained colleagues with secondary tasks such as:
      • Refilling hotel kitchenettes
      • Serving meals to residents’ rooms
      • Delivering refreshments to other village locations

  • Community Contribution:
    • Provide a warm, welcoming greeting to residents, visitors, and colleagues
    • Assist in other facilities roles when required (social areas, landscaping, etc.)

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • No prior formal experience needed. We train for success!
  • Customer service or catering experience counts. (Retail, hospitality, healthcare—a welcome bonus!)
  • Soft skills that matter:
    • Genuine empathy for older adults
    • Attention to detail (tidiness, cleaning):
    • Team player with collaborative energy
    • Safe, bilingual communication skills (advantageous)
    • Physical stamina to carry out shift demands

❗ Drinks service including behind-the-bar responsibilities is only applicable to applicants over 18 years old.
