About the Role
We're recruiting for a Duty Manager at our Cockermouth Premier Inn.
Step into a role where you’ll lead a team to ensure our guests receive a welcoming, safe, and outstanding hotel experience. Whether you’ve previously managed teams in retail or any other industry, this progressive management opportunity is your next step.
In this permanent (non-zero hours) role, you’ll guide your team to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain high standards across all areas of the hotel, and drive a dynamic, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

Key Responsibilities
As the Duty Manager, your role will include:
- Team Leadership: Guide a reliable, high-performing team with experience from a retail or customer-facing background.
- Customer Excellence: Ensure every guest leaves with a positive, memorable experience.
- Operations: Oversee hotel running smoothly, balancing tasks like health & safety compliance, booking management, and guest feedback.

Requirements
We’re seeking a natural leader with management experience— particularly from retail or team-based environments. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Lead by example: Have prior experience leading teams or departments.
- Communicate clearly: Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are non-negotiable.
- Stay focused: Ability to anticipate needs, manage challenges, and motivate employees.

No prior Premier Inn/Whitbread experience necessary—but your existing skills are everything!

Terms
- Hours: 16 hours per week
- Pay Rate: Up to £13.86 per hour (day shift).
- Contract Type: Permanent (No zero-hours contracts)
- Start Date: Immediate
- Role Experience Relevance: Leaders-in-training with transferable skills remain highly eligible.
