The Mill is The Bamford Collection's first full-service hotel - a design-led retreat set in the Cotswolds, defined by understated elegance, considered craftsmanship and a strong sense of place. Comprising ten individually designed thatched cottages, a members' club, restaurant, bar, private dining room, wild swimming lake and spa, it brings together everything the Collection stands for: quality, craft, sustainability and authenticity.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead the pre-opening, launch, and ongoing operation of The Mill, Bamford Collection's next exciting luxury opening in the Cotswolds. This flagship destination will combine a luxury hotel, private members' club, and exceptional hospitality experiences for both members and the public.
You will lead the pre-opening programme, recruit and inspire high-performing teams, and shape an outstanding guest experience across accommodation, dining, and membership. Following launch, you will have full accountability for commercial and operational performance, including P&L, guest satisfaction, and team leadership, establishing The Mill as one of the Cotswolds' leading luxury hospitality destinations.

Pre-Opening & Launch
- Lead the successful pre-opening and launch of The Mill, creating a destination that reflects the Bamford Collection's purpose of conscious living and exceptional hospitality.
- Oversee project planning, recruitment, onboarding and training, embedding a culture where colleagues feel empowered to deliver outstanding experiences.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a seamless opening and an inspiring membership proposition.

Commercial & Brand Leadership
- Hold full P&L accountability, driving sustainable commercial performance and operational excellence.
- Build strong relationships across the Bamford Collection and act as an ambassador for The Mill, developing partnerships that strengthen the brand and enhance the guest experience.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
- Lead with integrity, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, compliance and responsible business practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, creating a safe, supportive environment where colleagues and guests can thrive.
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
- Proven senior leadership experience within a luxury hospitality environment, such as a five-star hotel, private members' club or fine dining destination.
- Strong track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences across accommodation, food and beverage, and multi-outlet operations.
- Commercially astute with experience managing full P&L responsibility, driving revenue growth, profitability and operational excellence.
- Proven success leading pre-opening projects, including operational planning, recruitment, team development and launch.
- Inspirational leader with experience building, developing and retaining high-performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and represent a premium luxury brand.
- Passion for creating memorable guest experiences, maintaining exceptional standards and driving continuous improvement.
