Kitchen Team Leader – Braintree (A120) – Premier Inn

We’re currently recruiting in our Braintree (A120) location. This role offers 30 hours per week at a rate of up to £14.31 per hour.


Location: Cressing Road, Galleys Corner, Braintree, CM77 8GG


About the Role

Join our team at Premier Inn Braintree (A120) as a Kitchen Team Leader and take the next step in your Chef career. You’ll be responsible for managing the kitchen day-to-day—controlling rotas, food orders, team performance, and ensuring everything aligns with audit standards. Working closely with the Hotel Manager, you’ll take full ownership of food quality, hygiene, and operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role designed for candidates looking to build the skills to progress towards Head Chef status.


What You’ll Do

  • Own food ordering, stock control, and keeping food costs in line for the entire hotel
  • Take the lead during peak service hours, organising the team and ensuring workflow efficiency
  • Prepare and serve menu items to specification, from breakfast staples to premium pub dishes
  • Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards, updating training records and monitoring compliance
  • Step in when needed—covering shifts, supporting team members, and setting an example as part of the leadership
  • Develop kitchen management skills to progress into senior roles withinWhitbread
