Hotel Kitchen - Team Leader

Kitchen Team Leader – Halifax South – Premier Inn

About the Role

Join our team at Premier Inn Halifax South as a Kitchen Team Leader and move your chef career forward. You’ll run the kitchen day to day – managing rotas, placing food orders, leading the team through busy services, and ensuring everything remains audit-ready. Working closely with your Hotel Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the kitchen, covering food quality, hygiene, and operational efficiency in a hands-on leadership role.

Suitable for anyone looking to build the necessary skills for becoming a Head Chef, this position offers a dynamic environment and the chance to make a real impact in hospitality.


Location & Hours

Location Salterhebble Hill, Huddersfield Road, Halifax, HX3 0QT

Hours

  • 30 hours per week
  • Pay: Up to £14.31 per hour

Key Responsibilities

As Kitchen Team Leader, your role includes:

  • Taking full accountability for:
    • Ordering supplies and managing stock control to maintain budget efficiency across the entire hotel
    • Team leadership during service, ensuring seamless workflow and high-quality meal service (from classic Premier Inn breakfasts to pub favourites).
    • Ensuring dishes meet premise standards while monitoring food quality and hygiene compliance.
  • Maintaining national and local regulatory standards (health, safety, hygiene).
  • Handling operational shifts, mentors new hires, and resolving potential bottlenecks.
  • Actively advancing your career path — developing leadership skills for future promotions, such as progression to Head Chef.
