Hotel Kitchen Team Leader

Kitchen Team Leader – Welwyn Garden City Premier Inn

Join our team at Premier Inn Welwyn Garden City and kickstart your career as a Kitchen Team Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your Chef career, overseeing everything from food quality to kitchen operations while working under a fixed-term contract.

Role Summary

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen: managing rotas, ordering supplies, leading through busy service periods, and ensuring audit-readiness. Partnering closely with the Hotel Manager, this hands-on leadership role is designed for those ready to develop the skills needed to eventually progress to Head Chef.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee food ordering and stock control, keeping costs under budget
  • Lead during service hours, organising staff workflow and maintaining efficiency
  • Ensure all meals meet brand standards, from Premier Inn breakfasts to pub classics
  • Maintain strict health, safety, and hygiene standards through staff training and compliance
  • Stepline in shifts as required and assist in onboarding new team members
  • Develop expertise in kitchen management for potential senior career advancement

  • Pay Rate: Up to £14.31 per hour

  • Hours type: Fixed-term contract (until 01/09/2026) – no zero-hours contracts
