Hotel Night Shift Leader
Job Ref: 658111 Location: The New Angel Hotel, Whitby Salary: £14.75 per hour Hours Per Week: 40 Closing Date: 06-07-2026
About the Role
Responsible for maintaining excellent standards of customer service at all times, with particular attention to all aspects of fire safety.
Wetherspoon has built its success on delivering the best CQSMA standards: cleanliness, quality, service, maintenance, and atmosphere. This role ensures the delivery of these standards and the safe operation of the hotel overnight.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Handle reservations and manage enquiries.
- Perform hourly security checks and be responsible for evacuation procedures in emergency situations.
- Maintain the duty manager logbook, reporting all accidents and incidents accurately.
- Ensure full adherence to:
- Licensing law
- Trading standards
- Customs & excise regulations
- Food hygiene
- Health & fire safety
- Lead by example with professionalism and presentation.
- Ensure excellent customer service with fluency in conversational English.
- Communicate effectively and confidently with staff and customers at all levels.
- Display self-motivation, enthusiasm, and resilience under pressure.
- Manage emergency or conflict situations with confidence.

Requirements
- Must be over 18 years old (alternative roles available for younger candidates).
- Full proof of right to work in the UK.
- Must have a fixed place of residence reasonably close to The New Angel Hotel.
- Willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends, and nights).
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to remain calm in unexpected situations.
