Role Description

The Hotel Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based at Easthampstead Park in Wokingham. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming guests on arrival
  • Managing check-in and check-out procedures
  • Handling reservations and room allocations using the hotel’s booking systems
  • Answering phone and email inquiries
  • Providing information about hotel services and local attractions
  • Resolving guest requests or issues promptly and professionally
  • Coordinating with housekeeping and other departments to ensure rooms and facilities are prepared to standard
  • Processing payments accurately
  • Maintaining a tidy, organized reception area

The position requires consistent adherence to hotel policies, security procedures, and a high level of guest service.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide welcoming, professional guest service
  • Experience with receptionist duties and front desk operations in a hotel or similar environment
  • Opera Cloud or similar PMS experience
  • Proficiency in handling reservations and using hotel booking or property management systems
  • Clear, courteous phone etiquette and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy and numeracy, including POS or payment processing systems
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer-facing roles is advantageous
  • Formal training or certification in hospitality or customer service is a plus
