We are currently seeking a dedicated Hotel Service Assistant to join our team at Rush Court Care Home in Wallingford. This role is pivotal to our success and offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the care experience of our residents.

Role Overview

As a Hotel Service Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the comfort and wellbeing of our residents by providing high-quality hospitality and support services. You will work closely with our care and catering teams to ensure the environment is clean, inviting, and meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home, including residents’ rooms, communal areas, and dining spaces.
  • Support the catering team by assisting with meal service, clearing tables, and ensuring dining areas are tidy and welcoming.
  • Laundry duties such as washing, drying, folding, and distributing residents’ clothes and linens.
  • Assist with stocking and replenishing supplies to ensure all areas are well-equipped.
  • Respond promptly and politely to residents’ requests related to housekeeping and hospitality services.
  • Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate team members to maintain a safe environment.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and care staff to support the overall wellbeing of residents.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Previous experience in a hospitality, catering, or care environment is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene and safety standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible to meet the needs of the home and its residents.
  • A genuine desire to contribute positively to the quality of life for elderly and vulnerable people.
