Red Star are looking for talented FX and CFX ARTISTS to work remotely on our production of THE AMAZING MAURICE 2. Candidates must be based in the UK or in the EU.
The Role
- Building and running FX and/or CFX in Houdini (cloth, hair, water, smoke, magical stuff…).
- Taking shots from setup through to final, with minimal hand-holding.
- Working closely with Supes to get things looking right while keeping things efficient.
- Keeping your setups clean, readable and production-friendly.
Must Have
- 3 years production experience (minimum).
- Strong Houdini skills across the usual FX toolsets (Pyro, FLIP, RBD, particles, etc.).
- Comfortable owning your work and managing your time.
- A good eye for what makes FX feel right in feature animation, not just technically correct.

Nice To Have
- VEX and/or Python knowledge.
- Familiarity with Maya.
- Feature or high-end episodic experience.
Details
- Level: Junior / Mid / Senior
- Contract: ASAP – Feb 27
- Salary: Negotiable
Whilst these are fully remote positions, due to the way this project is funded candidates MUST be physically based in the UK or EU to be eligible and a preference will be given to UK-based candidates.
