Household Catering Lead
Chef (Hospitality Village Catering Support Staff)
Salary: £14.45 per hour Hours: 30 hours per week Schedule: Weekdays and every other weekend
About the Role
You’ll be playing a critical start-up role, working closely with the Bistro and Catering Manager (BCM) to develop nutritious, flavourful, and appealing recipes for our residents in the Village. Providing high-quality meals is key—it could be one of their most looked-forward-to moments each day.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all meals meet high standards, being wholesome, nutritional, tasteful, and appetising
- Supporting residents to enjoy their homecooked meals
- Health, safety, and food hygiene compliance: Ensuring policies align with environmental health and H&S regulations, as well as Belong’s policies
- Maintaining and completing all household HACCP records
- Preventing malnutrition and dehydration, following best-practice guidelines and advising on dietician recommendations where necessary
- Monitoring service standards in kitchen operations to uphold quality
- Demonstrable expertise in SALT (specialist assessed level of nutrition for older people) and dysphagia (swallowing disorders)

About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a true passion for food, creativity, and delivering exceptional results
- Has a drive to train and develop teams, fostering a positive work environment
- Thrives on inspiration and support within a collaborative setting
- Is committed to high standards and is ready to follow Health and Safety guidelines
- Ideally holds a Level 2 or 3 Catering qualification (desirable)
- Prefers candidates with experience in catering, looking to advance their career
