Operational Waste Sergegration and Loading Assistant Bristol Waste Company


SALARY £28,033.61 annum (Pay award pending)

HOURLY PATTERN 40 hours per week

  • Mon/Tue/Fri: 8:45am – 5:15pm
  • Sat/Sun: 7:45am – 4:15pm (Wed/Thu: days off) LOCATION: Avonmouth, Bristol

Purpose of the Role

You’ll be the first point of public contact, providing professional guidance and operational support to:

  • Advise directional assistance using screening through appropriate corridors by
  • Reducing waste reception errors
  • Control waste assessments and segregations solutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and segregate Black Bag waste for commercial customers and members of the public
  • Direct and manage loading/transfer operations for waste, recyclables and reusable materials to disposal points
  • Perform general site duties, including:
    • Housekeeping (grounds and building maintenance)
    • Facilities maintenance
    • Comply with waste management legislation
  • Operate:
    • 360° grab and other mobile plant
    • Weightbridge (with training provided)
  • Speaker/ambassador in recycling and reuse initiatives

Essential Requirements

Marketing the Business:

  • Experience dealing with public/commercial clients and internal colleagues
  • Proven team player with strong communication skills for operational issues

Manual Handling:

  • Ability to perform physical lifting up to 25kg, manuals able handling, pulling/pushing
  • Demonstrated work patterns without direct supervision

Tech:

  • Proven compnesity to operate computer-devise-compatible weighbridge (training will be provided)

Legislative:

  • Health & safety and relevant associated regulation understanding

Training:

  • Physical/ability to work exclusively with training routes including throwing, multiple varied
  • Point relevant outreach/getting to the quarryt of prompt duty Operation to practise call
