Location: Sunderland, Cloud Student Homes, UK
Reporting to: Accommodation Manager
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week Salary: £12.71 per hour
Introduction
Cloud Student Homes is a national provider of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation in England. We focus on providing our students with more than ‘just’ their accommodation, delivering safety, security, and social aspects of university life.
The Housekeeper role is essential to a fully functioning team, ensuring outstanding cleanliness and upkeep within our student accommodation sites. This role may require duties across one or multiple accommodation sites.
Main Responsibilities and Functions

Ensure buildings are clean and orderly for students, maintaining the highest standards across:
- Rooms and suites
- Common rooms
- Hallways
- Outdoor areas
- Entrances

Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including (non-exhaustive):
- Sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and vacuuming
- Kitchen cleaning (work surfaces, ovens, hobs, fridges)
- Bathroom maintenance (wash basins, showers, tiles, toilets)

Carry out room inspections to verify cleanliness and upkeep standards

Protect equipment and report any deficiencies or damages

Notify superiors of any damages, inadequacies, or disturbances

Handle reasonable complaints and requests professionally and patiently

Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, advise the accommodation manager on reorder needs, and restock appropriately

Strictly follow health and safety regulations

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Housekeeper in hospitality venues or student accommodation, with the ability to manage fast-paced environments (high check-ins and check-outs)
- High degree of independence to work with minimal supervision while maintaining performance
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills to enhance student experience
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality
- Integrity and attention to detail
