About the Role

This is an exciting new role within CRF Wythenshawe and North Manchester General Hospital, as a cross site working, which you will allow you to work closely with the Ward managers, nurses, operational and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all medical equipment is clean and well maintained.
  • Ensure and maintain safe stock levels on the ward.
  • Assist with ensuring a safe clean environment and the ordering and provision of food and drink.
  • Be responsible for assisting with the patient experience tracker and obtaining feedback from patients and their families with the Friends and Family Test (FFT).
  • Assist the team in continuous quality improvement work.

Requirements

The Right Candidate Will

  • Have the ability to use their own initiative and work closely with a second housekeeper.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work under indirect supervision.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise time & workload.

Role Details

The post holder will work as an integral part of the team, responsible for the co-ordination of services within the Ward area and work as part of the multi-professional team, to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

The main elements of the role include:

  • Catering responsibilities

  • Re-stocking of areas

The post holder will be required to work closely with contractors, support services, monitor quality standards, report deficiencies, and take appropriate action. The post holder will ensure that the tidiness and appearance of the department is conducive to good patient care. Patients’ privacy and dignity must be always respected.
