Housekeeper / Cleaning Operative
Purpose of the Role
To deliver cleaning and housekeeping services to the highest standards within a fast-paced office environment. This role is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities while supporting workplace hospitality requirements, including the preparation and set-up of breakfast and lunch service areas.
The successful candidate will take pride in their work, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and contribute to continuously improving quality standards across the site. A strong focus on health and safety, customer service, and teamwork is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning duties in accordance with agreed specifications, schedules, and health & safety procedures.
- Undertake housekeeping responsibilities to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the workplace.
- Prepare kitchen, dining, and hospitality areas for breakfast and lunch service.
- Ensure food preparation areas, crockery, equipment, and communal spaces are clean, organised, and ready for use.
- Monitor and replenish food items, beverages, consumables, and cleaning supplies to maintain service standards.
- Carry out internal and external cleaning duties, including window cleaning where required.
- Update the Supervisor or Line Manager on any site issues, concerns, or changes.
- Review allocated tasks and work schedules through the Jobber system.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of work while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Ensure all cleaning products, equipment, and materials are stored and maintained correctly.
- Use initiative to resolve issues where appropriate and escalate unresolved matters when required.
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times, including the correct use of PPE.
- Respond positively to reasonable requests from the client, management team, or company.
- Support the continuous improvement of cleaning and housekeeping standards across the site.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- Experience working within a corporate office, hospitality, or workplace environment.
- Experience supporting hospitality services, including food preparation or service areas.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, machinery, and safe working practices.

Working Environment
This role involves working across a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and may include exposure to changing weather conditions, cleaning equipment, noise, dust, and other workplace hazards. The successful candidate will be expected to work safely at all times and follow all relevant health and safety procedures.
