Housekeeper (Bank)

Housekeeper – Bank/Ad hoc | Shrewsbury Hospital | £12.84 per hour

As a bank worker in our Housekeeping team, you won’t have a fixed shift schedule. Instead, you’ll support us with flexible, ad-hoc work tailored to Nuffield Health’s needs – the UK’s largest healthcare charity.

At Nuffield Health, your work ensures that every patient, member and customer receives care with care. From shaping the future of connected health to transforming experiences, you have the freedom to build the role and career you want. It starts with you.

About the Role

Ensuring our hospitals are immaculate is critical for patient comfort and care. We’re looking for an organised, detail-oriented Housekeeper to attack cleaning tasks with expertise. This is more than just moving furniture—you’ll act as the grey glamour behind every safe, welcoming, and hygienic experience in our Shrewsbury Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Wield duties across a range of activities, including, but not limited to:
    • Room and area cleaning with high-level cleaning products and equipment.
    • Removal of waste and disposal of linen in compliance with infection prevention protocols.
    • Deep cleaning schedules to maintain standards.
    • Supporting patients discreetly and professionally so hygiene never overshadows care.
  • Foster a patient-first mindset: Being prompt, punctual, and flexible to balance effective cleaning schedules without disrupting patient flow.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Housekeeping leadership, colleagues, and the Infection Prevention team, reporting cleaning incidents instantly.
  • Showcase a friendly demeanour with unparalleled customer service – be it for your team or the patients who rely on us.
  • Calculate and demonstrate methodical time management to ensure cleanliness is upheld without compromising patient care pathways.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
