Are you an experienced Housekeeper looking for a rewarding role within the public sector?
West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Housekeeper to join our Adult Social Care Service, reporting to the Head Housekeeper, at Birchwood Care Home. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our care home, ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.
About The Role
As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of Birchwood Care Home. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing daily housekeeping duties such as cleaning, dusting, and vacuuming
- Ensuring all areas are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Managing laundry services, including washing, ironing, and folding
- Assisting with the organisation and storage of residents' personal belongings
- Reporting any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel
Working closely with the Head Housekeeper, you will contribute to the effective management of housekeeping services, ensuring that the needs of residents are met with care and attention.
Two week rolling rota.
Every other weekend to work Saturday and Sunday.
08:00- 15:30 Hours to work
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Proven experience in a housekeeping role, preferably within a care or hospitality environment
- Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with residents and colleagues

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
