Set on the banks of the River Great Ouse, The Embankment Hotel Bedford combines boutique bedrooms, seasonal food, expertly crafted drinks and one of Bedford’s best riverside terraces. Built in 1891 and restored with modern comfort and character, The Embankment has become one of Bedford’s most loved spots for relaxed dining, weekend stays, celebrations and private events.
Position
We’re currently looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a housekeeper and cleaner at our pub, restaurant, and hotel. This is a key role in ensuring our rooms, public areas, and facilities are kept spotless, welcoming, and up to the high standards our guests expect. If you take pride in creating a clean, comfortable environment and enjoy being part of a friendly, professional team, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements
Ideal applicants will bring the following strengths to the role:
- Attention to detail: Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and facilities are cleaned to a high standard.
- Reliability and punctuality: Consistently show up on time and complete tasks within scheduled shifts.
- Physical stamina: Able to carry out manual tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, lifting linen bags, and making beds.
- Discretion and professionalism: Respect guest privacy and maintain a friendly, courteous manner at all times.
- Teamwork: Work well with other staff members, including front of house and kitchen teams, to ensure smooth operations.
