Job Description: Housekeeper
Pay: £12.74 per hour
Location: Mill Lodge Hospital, Mill Ln, Derby DE74 2EJ
Shifts: 25.00 hours per week (shift-based rota over 7 days including weekends and public holidays)

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which is covered by Rushcliffe Care.
The Role
Duties
As a Housekeeper at Rushcliffe Care Group, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the home/unit. Your key duties will include:
- Cleaning and maintaining designated areas, including bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and kitchen spaces, to a high standard.
- Following daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained.
- Adhering to infection control policies, ensuring all cleaning products are used safely and in line with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
- Reporting any hazards, damages, or maintenance needs to the Person in Charge.
- Assisting with the laundering of service users’ clothing and bedding as required.
- Maintaining a friendly and professional relationship with residents, respecting their privacy and dignity at all times.
- Working as part of the wider care team, helping to create a comfortable, welcoming, and safe environment for all residents and staff.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong work ethic and the ability to carry out tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
- A positive attitude towards health, safety, and hygiene, with a willingness to follow all necessary guidelines and regulations.
- The ability to work as part of a team, with good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- Experience in a similar domestic or cleaning role is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of our residents and staff.
- Flexibility and reliability, with a good track record of punctuality and attendance.

About The Service
Mill Lodge Hospital is a 32-bed hospital providing specialist mental health care services on behalf of the NHS. Our patients range from 18 years through to older age people.
We support all patients with a range of conditions including:
- depression
- mental illnesses such as schizophrenia
- personality disorder
- learning disability
- addictions
We use a ‘recovery’ approach to tailor care to each individual to help them achieve their maximum potential.
We value all contribution and support that family and carers provide. We feel it is essential, with a patient’s agreement, to include carers throughout the recovery pathway, for example when planning care and conducting risk assessments.
