Elizabeth Finn Homes is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Rush Court Care Home in Wallingford. This pivotal role supports the smooth running of our home by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff alike.
About The Role
As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play an essential part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home. Your efforts will directly contribute to the comfort and well-being of our residents, helping us deliver the excellent care and quality of life they deserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in residents’ rooms, communal areas, offices, and other parts of the care home.
- Carry out daily cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and sanitising surfaces.
- Ensure laundry duties are completed efficiently, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing residents’ clothing and linen.
- Dispose of waste safely and in line with health and safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to the management team.
- Support infection control procedures by using appropriate cleaning products and methods.
- Work collaboratively with care and catering teams to ensure a hygienic and pleasant environment.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines, including COSHH regulations.

Qualifications And Skills
- Previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role, preferably within health, nursing, or social care settings, is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and infection control principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- Reliability and strong organisational skills.
- Willingness to undertake mandatory training and comply with all regulatory requirements.
