Boys & Girls Country's mission is to change the lives of children from families in crisis by loving and nurturing them in a Christian home, raising them to become self-sustaining and contributing adults. For over 50 years, Boys & Girls Country has provided a loving, stable Christian home for children whose families cannot care for them.

Located in Hockley, Texas, just northwest of Houston, Boys & Girls Country serves boys and girls ages 5–18, along with young adults in our College & Career Program.

We are seeking compassionate and mission-minded Houseparents to join our Christian residential ministry.

This is more than a job, it is a ministry and calling to provide love, guidance, structure, and hope through a family-style home environment where children can heal, grow, and thrive.

Houseparents live on campus and serve in a 14 days on / 7 days off rotation, offering consistent care, mentorship, and support to children entrusted to our care.

Responsibilities Include

  • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment
  • Providing daily supervision, care, and emotional support
  • Serving as a positive mentor and role model
  • Assisting with meals, schoolwork, transportation, recreation, and appointments
  • Supporting household responsibilities such as meal planning, grocery shopping, cleaning, and laundry
  • Administering medications and maintaining confidential documentation
  • Using trauma-informed care and appropriate crisis intervention techniques
  • Collaborating with residential staff, educators, therapists, and case management
  • Attending trainings and following licensing and organizational standards

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related degree preferred
  • Experience working with children, youth, ministry, education, foster care, or residential care preferred
  • Understanding of child development and trauma-informed care
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to pass required background and child safety screenings
