Housing Adviser

**Housing Advisor – Personal Assistant (PA) in Housing Options & Homelessness Team

About Bath & North East Somerset Council

At Bath & North East Somerset Council, we aim to improve people’s lives through dedicated public services.

About The Team

The current exciting phase for housing services at Bath & North East Somerset. Changes are taking place as we implement an organisational restructuring, including the new Housing Plan 2025-30—an ambitious roadmap for future developments over the next five years.

We are now recruiting for an enthusiastic Housing Advisor to join our Innovative Housing Options & Homelessness Team, where roles can make a real difference to vulnerable families and individuals.

About The Role

You will work alongside 12 other colleagues, providing a high-quality service focused on preventing and relieving homelessness. This includes:

  • Offering housing advice and assistance
  • Conducting homelessness assessments
  • Managing temporary accommodation if needed

B&NES prides itself on the effectiveness of its housing team, reflected by the relatively low household numbers currently in temporary accommodation—a direct result of the team’s strong efforts.

  • Primary location: Bath (some travel to Keynsham or Midsomer Norton may be required)
  • Opportunity to work from home (after mutual agreement)
  • Visit clients in their homes/environments may be necessary

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
