Housing Allocations Officer - Ref: HAO
Starting salary £31,226.52 p.a.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Broxbourne Council’s Housing Allocations Team. This is a key role within the Council’s Housing Service, responsible for ensuring that applicants receive fair and consistent access to social housing. As a Housing Allocations Officer, you will assess Housing Register applications, determine levels of housing need in line with the Council’s Allocations Policy and relevant legislation, and guide applicants through the allocations and bidding process.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a busy, supportive team.
- Collaborate with housing associations, internal departments and external agencies.
- Deliver a transparent and efficient allocations service.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a local authority housing setting.
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation.
- Highly motivated with a genuine interest in helping people.
- Previous experience working in a customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good written and analytical skills.
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Full driving license.

- Employer: Borough of Broxbourne
- Location: Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, EN8 9XQ.
- Hybrid Working: Available.
- Contract: Permanent.
- Working Pattern: Full Time.
- Hours: 37 hours per week.
- DBS check: Yes.
