About Stanhope Wellness Centre
Located in the heart of London NW2, Stanhope Wellness Centre is a pioneering pet care facility blending therapeutic grooming, hydrotherapy and behavioural support in a state-of-the-art setting. We’re seeking a Senior Dog Groomer (Kennel Club Accredited) to join our dedicated team and take ownership of our grooming department. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional groomer to lead our grooming operations, deliver exceptional client service, and advance your own career within a thriving business.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating, supervising, and ensuring high standards of quality in all grooming services across our team
- Performing advanced professional grooming (bathe, brush, trim nails, dew claw, haircuts, ankle and ear cleaning, styling and detailing)
- Diagnosing minor health issues in dogs during the grooming process and escalating concerns promptly
- Ensuring Kennel Club PRIME-certified hand ore/hyper-V grooming, condition treatments, and specialist photostyling are provided
- Managing inventory, equipment maintenance, and compliance with hygiene and safety protocols
- Collaborating with our hydrotherapist and behavioural therapist to ensure seamless integration of grooming services for our clients
- Implementing best practices for handling anxious or aggressive dogs through calm handling and behaviour cues
- Assisting in UK Kennel Club Expos and training events where required
We expect this role to grow into a more strategic leadership position, with potential to lead CPD and client education in future phases of business development.
Responsibilities

Grooming Excellence
- Deliver Kennen Club-accredited, premium standard grooming ensuring every client leaves with a healthy, happy dog
- Employ asymmetrical and symmetry stylings both for joint support dogs and high-end clients
- Ensure meticulous reporting on each dog’s health and comfort both during and post-grooming

Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor junior groomers, providing feedback and ongoing training
- Set KPIs for grooming efficiency, client satisfaction, and standards compliance
- Schedule and manage_time slots ensuring smooth workflow across multiple stations while prioritising comfort of all pets

Client Relations & Service
- Provide a personalised, empathetic service—every client should feel valued, educated and reassured
- Handle tricky situations including anxious dogs, owner requests, and client complaints tactfully and professionally
- Deliver spotless reporting on service breakdowns, care considerations or allergy reactions across all clients instantly via our system

Business & Compliance
- Ensure workplace safety (PPE, belt checks),
- Implement hygiene and best practice standards (ensure equipping CPD in the processes including Nail Drying, Hydro & additional therapies)
- Work with managers to research, cost out and stock new grooming procedures or equipment investments for franchise replication
- Reporting inventory and foresight on stock requests & ordering
- Comply with clinic standards including certification requirements at annual audits
- Work towards establishing our own care methodologies and teaching specific workshops

Marketing & Creativity
- Lead in photostyling efforts to showcase IEC/natural beauty clients for social platforms.
- Contribute inspirational grooming styles for our newsletter and social media channels

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional dog grooming experience (Horticultural or Kennel Club PRIME qualifications)
- ** Kessell Club Senior stipusite Certification** or demonstrable equivalent results on style consistency
- Excellent knowledge of breed needs, behaviour and anatomy (advanced anatomical focus for dogs such as breeding, allergies, skin conditions, and past surgery)
- Requirement for pet first aid certificate or willingness to obtain within first 3 mnths of commencement
- Strong attention to detail—stress-free outcomes are our ethos
- Passion for education and pet welfare—take pride in both craft and compassionate treatment
- Audit checks in need of evidence including streaks, accessories, CB ladder bookings
- Reasonable POS or booking system familiarity (on-the-job training or digital skills beneficial)
- Valid UK DVLA driving license (for loan dimer vehicle assistance in the future)
- Reliable access to communication (text/app access during shifts)

- Constructively willing
- Functional manager of additional canine therapies to upskill staff alongside grooming (future learning benefits)
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Experience in a luxury pet care or wellness setting
- Familiarity with styling trends (Haircuts, detailing, and Photostyling expertise)
- A portfolio showcasing past projects with before/afters or permits/link for results profiles
- First aid response expediency and willinging for our 300+ roles
