Housing Disrepair Fee Earner/Solicitor

Liverpool (Hybrid Working)

The Role

You will manage a caseload of pre- and post-litigated housing disrepair claims; handling matters from instruction through to resolution. The role involves working in line with the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions and dealing with claims under relevant landlord and tenant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims (pre and post litigation)
  • Draft Letters of Claim and prepare case documentation
  • Review liability evidence, housing records and expert reports
  • Quantify and collate special damages
  • Conduct negotiations, mediations and settlements
  • Issue court proceedings where necessary
  • Liaise with counsel, experts and clients
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and case management systems

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Fee Earner with housing disrepair experience
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload and work to tight deadlines
  • Confident communicator with strong attention to detail
  • Experience using a case management system (e.g. Proclaim or similar)
  • Able to handle litigated matters independently
