Income Management Officer
Contract: Permanent, Full-time Workstyle: Roaming – A mix of homeworking, office-based work, and customer home visits Operational Base: South Gloucestershire & Bristol
About the Role
Are you an experienced income specialist ready to hit the ground running?
We’re seeking a dedicated professional with deep expertise in:
- Income recovery
- Tenancy sustainment
- Guiding customers through complex financial challenges
Confident in housing law, benefits systems, and court processes, and driven by a passion for enabling high-alignment outcomes, this Income Management Officer role is for you.

- Stabilise customers’ tenancies by guiding them toward sustainable financial futures.
- Maximise their income potential with tailored support.
- Deliver consistently progressive outcomes with evidence-based earning.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Oversee a geographically defined cohort of tenancies, prioritising early intervention to prevent crises.
- Customer Advocacy: Offer personalised advice on:
- Income maximisation (e.g., welfare benefits)
- Budgeting and debt mitigation strategies
- Arrears recovery(pursuing rent monies owed)
- **Legal & court proceedings:**manage credible cases before housing tribunals, demonstrating rigorous knowledge of documentation requirements.
- Proactive Remediation:
- Set clear timelines for repayments.
- Monitor and adjust borrowing plans where vulnerability is identified.

Requirements
Core Experience
- Proven success in income recovery, tenancy sustainment, or relevant welfare revenue roles—social housing experience preferred.
- demonstrated practical knowledge of benefits systems, housing legislation, and court documentation.

- Must hold a full UK driving license (mandatory for home visiting, office-based work, and hybrid role demands).
