Senior Associate – Housing Litigation – Manchester – Up to £90,000 + Bonus + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate Housing Litigation Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join a leading UK law firm in Manchester, specialising in social housing law and housing management litigation.

This role sits within a highly regarded housing team acting for Registered Providers, housing associations, local authorities and other public sector clients, advising on a broad range of matters including anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings, housing disrepair claims, injunctions, property condition disputes and wider housing management issues.

This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious senior associate looking to take the next step in their career, combining high-quality legal work with the opportunity to develop their own profile and network within the social housing sector. The firm offers a clear pathway for lawyers seeking to strengthen client relationships, contribute to business development initiatives and play a key role in the continued growth of the practice.

The Role:

  • Managing a complex caseload of housing litigation matters on behalf of Registered Providers, local authorities and other housing clients
  • Advising on anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings and wider housing management litigation issues
  • Handling injunctions, committal proceedings, housing disrepair claims and property condition disputes
  • Providing strategic and commercially focused advice to clients on housing matters
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and developing long-term client relationships
  • Contributing to business development, networking events and marketing activities
  • Supporting tender opportunities, framework appointments and client pitches
  • Working closely with partners to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Building and developing your own network of contacts within the housing and property sector

The Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in housing litigation, social housing law
  • Strong experience acting for Registered Providers, local authorities, or private sector
  • Proven ability to manage complex housing litigation matters with minimal supervision
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior team members
  • Commercially aware with excellent client relationship management skills
  • Demonstrable involvement in business development and networking activities
  • Ambitious and motivated to develop a personal profile within the housing sector
  • A developing network of contacts within social housing, local government or the wider property sector would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication, drafting and advocacy skills
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to business development and client service
