Housing Management Lawyer

Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 Hours Per Week) Hybrid Position

Recruitment Location(s):

  • Newcastle City Centre (primary hybrid base)
  • Flexible to be based in other nationwide Home Group offices

Salary: Up to £50,000 per year (dependent on skills and experience), plus:

  • Health cash plan, saving you and your children over £1,140 per year.

About the Role You’ll work collaboratively with a supportive legal team, sharing expertise and shaping business-wide outcomes by:

  • Influencing key decisions
  • Building strong internal partnerships
  • Constantly developing your legal expertise.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise on housing litigation, including:
    • Anti-social behaviour cases
    • Tenancy breach disputes
  • Draft and prepare:
    • Court applications
    • Statements
    • Supporting evidence
  • Represent Home Group at court hearings or instruct external legal support.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of housing management legal matters.
  • Support development of policy and procedures for legal and regulatory compliance.

Requirements & Qualifications

You’ll need to meet the following:

  • Solicitor or barrister qualification (with rights of audience).
  • Experience managing housing litigation (or a similar legal case workload).
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • Civil procedure rules
    • Court processes
  • Direct experience handling:
    • Anti-social behaviour cases
    • Possession proceedings
    • Tenancy breach disputes
  • Strong ability to draft legal documents and prepare court cases.

The Practical Details

  • Hybrid working: 2 days per week in office (most likely Newcastle City Centre office). Open to other base options or flexible arrangements if suitable.
  • Hours: Standard 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with integrated flexibility.
  • Role disadvantages: Ability to contribute to a Confirmation of Suitability (CoS) is not offered for this role.
